Marketplace Events Acquires Cincinnati Home & Garden Show
CLEVELAND, Ohio – May 18, 2017 – Marketplace Events, the largest producer of home and garden events in North America, announced today that it has acquired the Cincinnati Home & Garden Show from Hart Productions of Cincinnati, OH. Hart Productions will continue to operate six other annual events in the Greater Cincinnati market including shows in the holiday, boat, adventure sports, golf, baby, children and family industries.
The Cincinnati Home & Garden Show is the largest single-show acquisition made by Marketplace Events to date. “We are thrilled to add a show of this size and quality to our portfolio,” explained CEO Tom Baugh. “I’ve been friends for decades with the Harts, so it is a special honor for me to know Marketplace Events is assuming stewardship of one of the finest home and garden shows in North America. Hart Productions maintains a stellar reputation in the Cincinnati market, and we look forward to building upon that strong foundation in growing the show.”

Toni Garbo will serve as Show Manager on the Cincinnati show for Marketplace Events. Garbo joins the company after spending 24 years at WJW FOX 8 in Cleveland where she served as Managing Editor for 17 years. Marketplace Events also has a partnership with Cincinnati-based Scripps Digital, who provides digital expertise to support all 58 Marketplace shows and also supports exhibitors directly through the company’s Marketing Solutions division.
The acquisition brings the Marketplace Events portfolio to 58 shows in 26 markets. This is the 14th show acquired by the company since February of last year when Marketplace Events was purchased by Sentinel Capital Partners.
