Marketplace Events to Launch Additional Home Shows in Philadelphia and Des Moines
CLEVELAND, OHIO – March 10, 2015 – Marketplace Events, North America's largest home show producer, announced today that it has signed an initial three-year contract with the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA to produce the Philly Home + Garden Show at the suburban facility beginning in January 2016.
The new suburban show will be produced out of the company’s Philadelphia, PA office and managed by show manager Alyson Caplan, who also manages the annual Philly Home Show, which runs downtown at the PA Convention Center, now in its 35th year.
Additionally, the company will launch the Des Moines Home + Outdoor Living Show in March 2016 at the Iowa Events Center. This is in addition to the annual Des Moines Home + Garden Show the company produces at the same facility each February for the past 38 years. Both shows will be led by show manager Shannon Nathe out of the Des Moines, IA office.
Marketplace Events has launched eight home shows in the past three years in markets such as Salt Lake City, Cleveland, Ottawa and Edmonton where the company already operates successful events. “We have not been shy expanding our organic footprint in markets where we already have strong show teams producing robust events,” said CEO Tom Baugh. “Des Moines has been a fantastic market for us and it’s one where the demand from exhibitors and consumers allows for a second MPE event to be successful,” he explained.
“We are particularly excited about launching in suburban Philadelphia,” he continued. “It’s been nearly a decade since we’ve had the opportunity to produce shows in both the city and the suburbs. The Philly Home + Garden Show at the Expo Center at Oaks greatly extends our market reach. This gives our exhibitors greater access to thousands of homeowners from the far western suburbs of PA all the way to Southern New Jersey, something they’ve been asking us for,” Baugh continued.
This brings the company’s portfolio to 43 total events including 28 US Home Shows, 11 Canadian Home Shows, three bilingual Casa Latina Home Expos, and the American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo). A combined consumer and trade event for the Powersports industry, AIMExpo was recently ranked by Trade Show Executive magazine among their “Fastest 50 Class of 2014” which recognizes the most dynamic and fastest-growing trade shows in North America. www.marketplaceevents.com
